Kookie is a secure, local-first application that helps you manage your secrets safely. It uses strong encryption to keep your data secure, so you can focus on your work without worrying about leaks. This guide will show you how to download and run Kookie easily.
To get Kookie, visit our Releases page. There, you can download the latest version for your operating system.
Kookie works on Windows and Unix-based systems.
Click this link to visit the Releases page and see the latest versions available for download.
On the Releases page, find the version you want to download. Look for files like kookie-cli-windows.exe or kookie-cli-linux.
Click on the file suitable for your operating system to start the download.
Once the download finishes, locate the file in your Downloads folder.
For Windows users, double-click the .exe file to run it. If prompted for permission, click βYes.β
cd ~/Downloads
Then, run the application with:
chmod +x kookie-cli-linux
./kookie-cli-linux
After installation, you can start using Kookie to manage your secrets:
Creating a Secret: Open Kookie, and select the option to create a new secret. Enter the information you want to store.
Viewing a Secret: Click on the secret you want to view. Kookie will decrypt it for you.
Updating a Secret: Select the secret, make your changes, and save it again to update.
Deleting a Secret: Choose the secret you want to delete and confirm your choice.

Kookie is currently designed for desktop environments. Mobile support is not available at this time.
